Redlands Area Panhellenic Scholarships
The Geraldine M. Derkum Memorial Panhellenic Scholarships are awarded to qualified young women of greater Redlands, California, who are initiated members in good standing of one of the 26 National Panhellenic Conference sororities. Scholarships are awarded for the purpose of supporting opportunities in higher education and encouraging continuing growth in leadership achievements in their chosen sororities, at colleges/universities, and in community environments. The scholarships are merit-based, not necessarily need based.
Please note that a qualified applicant (or her parents) must have a permanent address within the greater Redlands geographic area, which includes: Redlands, Yucaipa, Highland, East Highlands, two zip codes in San Bernardino’s southeast area, Mentone, Beaumont, Banning, Cherry Valley, and Loma Linda. Relevant zip codes are: 92220, 92223, 92318, 92320, 92346, 92359, 92373, 92374, 92375, 92399, 92403, and 92404.
Normally, scholarship award funds are sent directly to the scholarship winner’s university/college to be used toward tuition and fees.

We expect our applicants to meet and complete all application requirements with the same level of professionalism expected in the working world. Each year in June, Redlands Area Panhellenic Association (RAPA) has awarded scholarships to outstanding college women. Scholarship awards range from $500.00 to $5,000.00. RAPA has given 83 scholarships to date. RAPA’s first scholarships were awarded in 1982. Since 1996, scholarships have been given in memory of Geraldine M. Derkum, a former President of RAPA, who was a member of Alpha Chi Omega at UCLA, initiated with the class of 1927.
